As "What I've Done" was the bridge from Meteora to Minutes to Midnight, "Burn It Down" is the bridge from A Thousand Suns to LIVING THINGS. In other words, it has an in-between sound. And, the song itself is about burning down something old and building something new for better or worse. All of you die hard LP fans don't like their new music, what with it sounding less like screaming and such. While being a fan of LP since Meteora myself, I was a little surprised at the direction they took this song, but I really like what they did. It's still rock, slightly metal, but it incorporates what I feel like are slight electronica and pop elements. Considering the fact that it's all over the rock radios in my town, they must have done it right. I find it to be a great fight song that, while straying from their traditional sound, does not stray from LP's traditional awesomeness. |
